March 31, 2021

Tonight at dinner Sarah started running a 104.3 fever.

We took her to the Urgent Care but after explaining her history and current situation, they sent us straight to the emergency room.  The doctor at Urgent Care said Sarah  needed to be checked for sepsis. Not sure why that would come up as an issue but good to get it qualified.

Sarah and Gage have been in there almost two hours while I’ve been waiting in the car. They’ve done a good job keeping us updated with texts.

Sarah’s been put in a gown, and is on a saline IV for rehydration.

They’ve done urinalysis, bloodwork, chest x-ray and a COVID test. Don’t know how much longer they will be but I am here for the duration.

Will update as I know more.

By the way, I am posting from my phone which I’ve never done before so it may look a little different.

Thank you for the prayers.

  11. Dear Becky, the sudden high temperature could be a flag for sepsis. (It’s the first thing I thought of, since I had sepsis in 2019.). She is where she needs to be. I hope you can get inside to see her. You and your extended family have been in our thoughts and prayers all day, and you will continue to be tonight. Try not to feel alone in your car… many friends are with you in spirit.
    Love, Fred & Lucy
