We got home a little before 2 am, and I got three hours of sleep before heading to work, so I’m just slightly incoherent.
And to make my bleary Monday morning even more cheery, I seem to have misplaced this scenery. . .

and gotten this scenery, instead. Not quite sure what happened.

We had such a great visit that I didn’t have time to get a written blog together so I put together a photo blog for you. I will revisit some of the photos with the accompanying stories in future posts.
Enjoy these Wisconsin moments. Many more to come!

Love all the pics! My mom helped my grandpa put in a 2 seater, when she was a youngster. She said she got to use the geometry skills she’d just learned in school!
Also love the grocery store photo. Or someone’s nicely stocked pantry?! If a store, I imagine it is really handy to the locals.
Looks like a glorious trip!
Ann,
I’ve used an outhouse but never helped to put one in! I bet your mom never thought she’d use her geometry skills for that!
The grocery store was owned by the Amish so no electricity in the building. (At first, I couldn’t figure out why it was so dim in there.) They sell food that is a couple of weeks or months past the expiration date at highly reduced prices. It seems to be a popular place!
Beautiful photos. Glad you arrived safely home. I know the feeling of only 3 hours sleep. Prayers you get thru the day and get some good sleep tonight.
Patti,
By Tuesday morning, I was starting to feel half-normal and today, I’m feeling pretty good! (But a nap would always be nice.)
I can’t wait to hear the stories! What a beautiful and blessed trip you had!
Lisa,
Many stories to come!
Great pictures – Can’t wait to hear the stores! Glad you made it home safely and that you get some rest this week!
Sue Ellen,
Yes, home is a beautiful word. The doggies were very excited!
Hi! I’m your sister Ruth’s friend. She shares your blog with me from time to time. I enjoyed your Wisconsin pictures and I’m looking forward to reading the Wisconsin blog!
Sincerely,
Cindy 😊
Cindy,
Oh yes, she has mentioned you to me over the years. Thanks for reading the blog!
Great pictures. Was Nathan with you?
Phyllis,
At the very last second, he was able to go. So happy for that!
Did those cars pass you by or are they just catching up. Great pictures – looks like our state too. Loved the picture of the 2 seater!!!
Welcome back!
Sharyn,
Yes, Minnesota is gorgeous.
That 2-seater made me thankful for my bathroom!
Becky, you get the bestest pictures!!!!
So great to see you and everyone else. It was a wonderful day. Sorry about not getting much sleep. 2 AM. Crazy!!
Looking forward to the next post!
Carol
Carol,
I’m glad you got some photos too; thank you for doing that!
It really was a wonderful day and went by way too fast. Hugs to all!
Looks exciting! I know it was- I was there!
Ha-ha!
Ruth
Ruth,
Yes, I think I did notice you at the gathering! 🙂
You got out of Wisconsin just before the weather change. 80s over the weekend to 50s today.
Our farm still has the 2 seater outhouse also. But they are actually 2 doors. When we were kids and we would come for a visit, there was always one side without wasp nests so that was our preferred commode.
Ellen,
Um. Yep. I think I would definitely prefer the wasp-free commode!
That’s a big temp drop. Enjoy your beautiful fall.
Oh the tranquility, peace and joy! Those pictures and memories ought to be plenty to keep you going for a long time to come! 🙂
LeeAnne,
Tranquility is the perfect description. Love it beyond words!
